Captain’s Log 030826 – Beyond the Lagoon: Full-Day Boat Trips

Most of our guests come for a sunset cruise or a few hours on the Ébrié Lagoon — and that's always special. But some people want a longer day out on the water.

That's where our full-day boat trips come in.

From Abidjan we can reach two very different destinations in a single day by travelling further down the lagoon: Jacqueville and Assinie. Both are within comfortable range for a full-day charter, and both offer a completely different feel from the central lagoon around the city.

Jacqueville A quieter, more relaxed stretch of the lagoon. Wider water, a slower pace, and generally better fishing. It's a good choice if you want space, calm water, and the chance to drop a line for a few hours.

Assinie Reached by travelling down a narrower channel. More touristic, with better access to the beaches. Ideal if you want a longer day that combines lagoon cruising with time on the sand.

On both trips we leave in the morning, cruise further down the lagoon, spend time at the destination, and return in the late afternoon. The exact timing depends on the group and the weather that day.

These full-day boat trips are still personalised in the same way as our shorter lagoon charters — music, drinks, food, and pace are adjusted to the group.

(Note: Yamoussoukro and the Cascades de Man are longer journeys and work much better as overnight trips. We'll look at those options properly in a future log.)

If you've been thinking about a longer day on the water, Jacqueville or Assinie are excellent choices.

Would you like to know more about either of them?
