Even though I’m thousands of miles away, the Ébrié Lagoon still calls to me every day.

Captain's Log 270326

Some mornings I wake up and for a few seconds I can almost smell the mangroves and hear the soft lap of water against the hull. After more than 30 years at sea, the Ébrié Lagoon has become part of me.

Right now I'm not in Abidjan, but the dream is very much alive. I spend my days planning every detail — choosing the right safety equipment, making sure the boats are ready, and thinking about how we can give people a real, authentic experience on the water, not just another tourist ride.

I want guests to feel the warm breeze, watch the sunset paint the sky orange and pink, and listen to the stories of the lagoon that only locals know. I want them to leave with memories, not just photos.

Your support on the GoFundMe is helping turn all of this from a dream into reality. Every contribution brings us one step closer to the day I can finally stand at the helm again and welcome you aboard.

The lagoon is waiting. And so am I.
